About the Author Suja Shaji daughter of C.C. Varkey and Sarala, was born at Mulanthuruthy on Feb 14th 1963. Her primary education was from LP. School Vettickal. She did S.S.L.C from G.H.S. Mulanthuruthy. She graduated from Bharatha Matha College Thrikkakkara. Completed Hindi Praveen from Dakshina Bharatha Hindi Prachara Sabha and did M.A. (Malayalam) from University of Calicut. Started a stitching unit in Shoranur Muncipality. She studied Fashion designing course and Computer courses related to fashion designing. She did Diploma in painting from Thrissur Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan. She participated in one month dress designing course conducted by N.I.FT Bombay. She had written stitching column and Embroidery column in "Vanitha" magazine from 2001 to 2011. N.I.D (Abammadabad) included her in the designing panel of K.V.I.C.

Preface The history of Embroidery is as old as human civilization. Ancient people began to decorate their clothes using embroideries as part of civilization and modernation. Ladies of royal families encouraged such workers, who can do embroidery very efficiently.
