ARUN KUMAR SINGH, has been university Professor & Head of the Postgraduate Department of Psychology, Patna University, Patna. He holds M.A. degree (Psychology) having first rank in first class in 1968 from Patna University and also a Ph.D. degree in 1977 from the same University. He had also been awarded Gold Medal for his M.A. degree. He possesses the postgraduate teaching experience of 44 years with equally rich research experiences. He has written several textbooks both in English and Hindi, meant for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. These books have been widely accepted and read by both teachers and students. He has successfully guided several research scholars leading to their Ph.D. degree. He has also published several research papers in different journals of repute. His various psychological tests have also been widely used in researches of both Psychology and Education. He has also been awarded Best Psychologist Award, 2009 by IPERA.
Elementary Psychology Part II has been written according to syllabi prepared by the National Curriculum Framework, 2005 and adopted by NCERT, New Delhi. The book exclusively meets the need of intermediate students (+2 classes) of Indian schools and colleges. The book has been thoroughly updated to provide the latest information in the concerned areas. The book has been divided into nine chapters with specified themes. At the beginning of every chapter, chapter Preview and Defined objectives have been provided. These things will provide the reader with an overview of topics and issues that has been included in the chapter. At the end of each chapter, Review Summary, Questions and Project Ideas have been provided. These things will provide an additional opportunities for self-assessment and enhanced learning. Not only this, at the end of book both Glossary and Objective Questions have been added. The Glossary will improve the piecemeal knowledge of the reader and objective Questions will allow reader to test the depth of his obtained knowledge in the concerned area. I am thankful to all those writers and researchers whose textbooks and researches have provided a scientific basis for preparing the book.
