The Book deals with the status of Religion, Culture and Learning Institutions under various Vijayanagara Dynasties and the patronage of its Rulers to the advancement of Knowledge Bodies. Learning Institutions remained completely secular and Rulers encouraged particularly Learning methods especially with the Portuguese. It is more of broad survey of them with details and activities. Royal Patronage is another word for State Patronage and it was based on understanding, perception and priority of each king towards them. Educational Institutions of different types made considerable progress under Vijayanagara patronage.
Kandikanti Pandaiah holds a PhD in Medieval History of South India. He has special interest in Religion and Learning Institutions under various Dynasties. He has effectively submitted number of Academic Papers as a Participant in different National and Local Seminars. He is actively associated with AP History Congress and subsequently with Telangana History Congress. He has been teaching History for the Graduates in one of the constituent colleges of Osmania University, Hyderabad for the last 13 years.
