The Objective of this book is to provide a computational analysis of the impact of WTO policies in the trade barriers on the economic welfare, trade and the intersectoral allocation of resources in Indian agriculture & rural Sector Of particular interest is the focus on finding overall impact of modern technology and policies for the upliftment of Indian agriculture under the new WTO implications. In simple words, the book throws light on the progress of agriculture and rural sectors post the initiation of economic reforms process of 1991.

India initiated the process of economic reforms in 1991 in response to the changes in the external and internal economic environment. The objective of this book is to provide a computational analysis of the impact of WTO policies in the trade barriers on the economic welfare, trade and the intersectoral allocation of resources in Indian agriculture & rural sector. The study analyzes the causes that are responsible for the sluggish growth of the exports on one hand and the factors that bring an expansion in exports an imperative necessity for the Indian economy The study focusses on the other areas like food security & price reformulation of agricultural products and their marketing in the global market.

The study elaborates on the impact of global change on Indian Economy The authors present their evaluation and review of WTO and related agricultural export trade, growth of agricultural productivity, eradication of poverty, unemployment, the disparity between poor and rich as well as social welfare and equity. The study further examines the overall impact of modern technology and policies for the upliftment of the Indian agriculture under the new WTO implications.
