The month of May, a hundred years ago, saw the birth of a soul who is a succor, a seer, a shelter, a sage, a saviour to searching souls The Paramacharya of Kanchi.
A hundred years later we witness the birth of the birthless. The birth of a book on a source, a spirit, a shakthi, which is birthless. It is a mere coincidence that the book is brought out in the same month, for it is He, the Paramacharya of Kanchi, who revealed the true nature of this supreme soul and guided a select few to her presence.
The Sun is the source of all energy and a supreme power is the ultimate source which gives energy to the Sun. This supreme source takes the shape of Saraswathy known till this date as Mathioli to a select few. That the sea of mankind should benefit from knowledge of her existance has been the prime reason for Smt. Prema Dyaneswaran to bring out this book.
In today's world of struggle and strife, man has very severe constraints
to control his senses
to strike a balance in life
to strive to do his duty
leave alone search for the supreme truth.
We swim aimlessly through life and if we are not to be battered and bruised by the savage winds of time, we keep an anchor, which is shaped from the supreme force.
Blessed are we for we have this anchor amidst us. Mathioli Saraswathy, the power incarnate of Sri Akhilandeswari of Thiruvanakoil. She is a mother, a sister, a child, a friend, a guide to various people who see her as Amma, Akka, or Mathioli.
She is a picture of grace, soft-spoken sweetness, with a smile which speaks volumes, compassionate and ever ready to bear the burdens of the people who throng to her for support.
We visualise God in various ways as one who is all powerful, as one who punishes us for acts of ommission and commission. That is why the word God-fearing comes into our vocabulary. But in the form of Sri Amma we understand the term God-loving where the word fear is removed by the feeling of love.
It is with love we approach her; it is a message of love that she spreads; it is the power of love she exudes and the special love she has for children draws them like a magnet to her.
Love is what Sri Krishna is about. His pranks as a child makes it easy for any child to understand and have a rapport with him. It is not with fear that children should think about God, but as a loving companion who is with them all through their lives.
It is for this reason that she is building a prayer hall at 117, Dr. Ranga Road, Madras an edifice which stands as a witness to the benevolence of the Ramaswamys who have donated that land. There is a unique feature in the prayer hall. The children with no bar on race, caste, creed, colour, religion - can themselves do puja to the paduka of Sri Krishna. This personal involvement of the children draw them closer to the ever loving Lord.
Children are the foundation of the society. The stress level for them is much higher in this generation than ever before.
