Sri Bhagavannama Bodendra Sarasvathi Swamigal adorned the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam established by Iagadguru Adi Sri Sankarcharya.
Just as Adi Sankarar established Adwaitha Siddhantha, this great soul has established Bhagawan Nama Siddhantham. Alwargal, Nayan margal, Kannada devotees like Purandara dasa, Maharashtra Bhakthas like Thukaram, North Indian Bhakthas like.
Thulasidas, Telugu Bakthas like Ramadasa, all of the above said great saints have only sung songs about the greatness of Bhagawan Nama but have not established Nama Siddhantha showing authority thereby from Sastras. Even Narayana Theertha and Sadasiva Bramhendral have only sung Keerthanas. Hence, these have been classified as Dasa group. Only Sri Bodendra Swamigal, Sri Sridhara Iyyaval and Marudanallur Sadguru Swamigal, who is an incarnation in one form of these both, have been accepted as Acharyas in Bhajan Sampradayam.
Sri Bhagawan Nama Bodendra Swamigal is the-First Guru in Bajana Sampradaya. Before him, no other Guru keerthana is to be sung. Leaving him, other Gurukirthanams should not also be sung. The Greatness for establishing Nama Sidhantha entirely belongs to him. He is resting in Jeeva Samadhi in Govindapuram situated next to Thiruvidairnaruthur in Tanjore District. His Aradahana festival is being celebrated in a grand way from Bhad rapada (Purattasi) Poornima day to Mahalaya Paksha Dwadasi.
Some ask why His Aaradana is being done, when there is no Aaradana even for Sankara. The birthday (layanthi) alone is important for Rama and Krishna. The day on which they left the mortal coil is not important for them. Vishnu incarnated as Rama and Krishna. Adisankara is an incarnation of Lord Siva. That is why Sankara Jayanthi alone is being celebrated.
In the Sree Matam, aradhanas of certain other Acharyas are also being celebrated. The aradhana of Sri Bodendra Swamigal alone is being celebrated from ancient times by Bhagavatha Sreshtas, beginning with Sadguru Swamigal. Even today Sri Bodendra Swamigal speaks to devotees from his Adhishtanam. Bhaktas desires are being fulfilled. We are glad to learn that the life history of Sri Bodendra Swamigal is being printed and will be made available to devotees. By Guru's grace, let the devotees' difficulties be removed and their desires fulfilled. My hearty blessings to the members of Sri Bhagawan Nama Publications who are engaged in this service.
