About the Book
Dinkarabhattiya by Sri Dinakarabhatta the son of Ramakusnabhatta and the grandson of Srinarayanabhatta is a critical work on Purvamimamsa. He condemns the opinions of others on Purvamimamsa unhesitatingly. He opposed Apayyadiksita’s Vidhirasayana in many place. At some places he discards the ideas of Somesvara as सोमेश्वरय समन्वयाभांस मयूरनृत्य मिवाभाति | He has shown the ignorance of Appayyadiksita in eighteen places quoting his Vidhirasayana as तदप्यज्ञानविजृम्भितम. The style he followed is that of Sriharsa of Khandanakhandakhadya.
Sometimes appreciates the views of all scholars like, Parthasarathimisra, Prabhakara, Salikanatha, Somesvara and even Appayyadiksita and sometimes criticizes and condemns. So regarding Dinakarabhatta, we can say that he is an impartial Purvamimamsaka having an individual view.
Since the work is vast only three Adhyayas are completed. But the work has given me full satisfaction and by printing and publishing Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha has blessed the Shastric Scholars and myself immensely for which I thank perennially my Gurugaru and Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha where I was Research student for 2 years.
