The year 2014-15 is celebrated as the Golden Jubilee Year of the Centre and many academic and cultural programmers were organized including two National Seminars, the proceedings of which have been already published. In the very beginning of the Golden Jubilee Year of the Centre we wanted to take a stock of the library and to reorganize the Center's library due to lack of space. During this search, we noticed that the Centre has a rich collection of manuscripts. We decided to do something to preserve these valuable treasures.
To start with we reassembled the manuscripts which were scattered due to lack of proper care and storage facility, cleaned them from dusts, bound in a proper manner with hard card board sheets again wrapped with cloth with a tag giving its accession number to identify the title. After a close examination of these Mss we further noticed that in our collection there are some rare and valuable Mss which must be brought to the notice of students and scholars of indology.
R.C. Dhere collection is a small one, added to this library, after purchasing it. Pandit Laghate and Disksit from Jambhulpada, have donated their collections to CASS library. Almost nine hundred manuscripts have been found in good and usable condition. It represents most of the branches of knowledge.
