A single moment of really being alive is enough, and one thousand years of an unreal life are not enough. One thousand or one million years of an unlived life are not worthwhile; and I tell you, a single moment of lived experience is an eternity unto self. It is beyond time; you touch the very soul of life. And then there is no death, no worry, no clinging. You can leave life any moment and you know that nothing is left. You have enjoyed it to the very full, to the very brink. You are overflowing with it, you are ready.
A man who is ready to die in a deep celebrating mood is the man who has really lived.
Osho approaches the concept of death with profound insight, viewing it not as an end, but as a transformative experience. For Osho, death was not the opposite of life, but a part of its continuum. Life and death are deeply interconnected, with death serving as a natural culmination of life's journey rather than a feared event to be avoided.
Osho encouraged us to embrace death with awareness and acceptance, rather than fear or resistance. He taught that by meditating on death and understanding its inevitability, one can transcend the fear associated with it and, in turn, live more fully. Death, in Osho's view, was a gateway to a deeper realization of existence, a reminder of the impermanence of the physical form and the eternal nature of consciousness.
He also emphasized that true freedom comes from understanding that the "self" is not bound by life or death. Osho's teachings suggest that in recognizing the illusory nature of death, one can experience a profound liberation, living life with a deeper sense of peace, joy, and detachment from the ego, ultimately leading to spiritual awakening.
