The Knowledge of chandas is most Essential to all the students and literary people especially to those, who are in the teaching profession. Hence, so far in the Sanskrit research field, it appears that there is no single work covering all the aspects of exclusive classical prosody. So, here it is proposed to produce such a complete works which deals with its origin, nature, basic elements and important variations with illustrations in a comprehensive form so as to guide the learners, who wish to go through the classical prosodial studies.
Hence, as a part of the attempt, it is planned to reconcile all the ideas of prosodians both the Vedic and the Classical. No doubt it helps the learners to have a clear idea of the historical development of the classical prosody in Sanskrit.
This Work is one of the ideas, to deal with all the aspects of classical prosody, including those, which have been explained by the earlier critics.
