To grow up in a family that loved everything about India has been the greatest privilege and chance for me. To explore India and its myriad hues and themes has been a choice which I made. And I am grateful to this country which has given me so much-name, culture, work, respect and an aura Wit the aura is for all if only we take out time to see the length and breadth of our country!
From the banks of Varanasi where many come to discover the meaning of life and a few more come as lifeless ashes...to the wilder side of India. In Kanha and Jabalpur and further to the golden city of Jaiselmer... India is a story of endless emotions and surprises. I share my emotions through words and the surprises standing behind the lens. This photo-text book on India's exotic locations is my way of paying tribute to India, the land that has reigned in art, culture and philosophy for centuries.
Many of my friends have been talking about their foreign trips and the fun they experience while being a foreign tourist; I am yet to make sense of the fact that how can one enjoy more in a foreign land, visiting art galleries and watching murals or historical artefacts about which we have no knowledge! No doubt one can enjoy more comfort and luxury while travelling abroad but to experience FEELINGS, no better place than India.
When I was in Kashi, I was so full with the feeling of detachment the whole world seemed a mirage and death seemed to be the only truth of life. No other place can bring such strong emotion in me. Similarly, when I was in Jabalpur, I was taken aback by the wild side of Nature and the beauty and rawness of Central India's culture. It is in this part of the world that the greatest king. Ashoka, left every materialistic desire, that too after conquering a war. He left it all after he had won it. Simple amazing, isn't it.
Exploring Rajasthan has been another unforgettable experience. Their Padharo Mhare Desh'like hospitality, unique clothes and food warm climate and affectionate people - everything is so mesmerizing. Rajasthan stands unfaded in any traveller's memories owing to its rich colours-colour of sand soil, monuments, history, culture, food, clothing...and so much more!
