Anita Sharma is Professor & Head at the Department of East Asian Studies, University of Delhi. She studied History in 1.P. College, Delhi at Undergraduate tevel and continued to receive her Postgraduation specializing in Ancient Indian History and Chinese History. After completing her M.Phil. in History from Delhi University, she studied Chinese History and Language at Fudan University and Beijing Language Institute, China. She received her doctorate in Buddhism from the University of Delhi where she has been teaching History, Buddhism and Chinese Language since 1983. She has written and edited five books and has a number of research papers and articles to her credit. She has presented well documented research papers in international conferences and seminars. She has been formerly Visiting Fellow of Chung Hwa Institute of Buddhist Studies and Hua Fan University, Taiwan. She has travelled far and wide in and outside India for her research projects. Visits to Kailsh-Mansarovar by land route in Tibet, Taxila, Yangon, Angkor, Xian, Luoyang, Kaohsiung and many other Buddhist places have given her rich experience and research data to complete her papers.
