Lord is the most mysterious deity. Despite being the foremost number of the Supreme Trinity of the Hindu faith, he commands least respect as far as the ritual worship is concerned. He has not temple save one in Ajmer he has almost no Shloka or hymn exclusively dedicated to him. How could the devotees be no ungrateful, no contemptuous to their Creator? Is the job of Creation no inferior to that of preservation and destruction? Why Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiv command more respect than he does? All these questions have been dealt in a very analytical manner in this small book, which is perhaps the maiden attempt of its kind.
Dr. B.K. Chaturvedi born in a village, Holipura (Agra, U.P.) on 3rd August 1945, in a reputed family, he had his education in Allahabad (M.Sc.) and Bangalore. Having served for a couple of years in HMT, he is now a free- lance author, journalist and poet based in New Delhi for about two decades.
He has many articles/poems/books published in both Hindi and English to his credit. among them is a mattered verse-translation in English the famous epic of modern Hindi: KAMAYANI. He has also rendered "Srimadbhagawat Gita' and 'Sriramcharitamanas' into English. A prolific writer, he often writes for TV and Radio.
Lord Brahma is perhaps the most mysterious deity for the Hindu Pantheon. Although one of the members of the most exalted Supreme Trinity and the creator of the world, he commands least respect as far as ritual worship is concerned. Barring a temple in Pushkar in Rajasthan, he has no image anywhere else in the world. Looking to his apparent status in the Hindu belief he should have had at least an equal number of temples dedicated to him if not more than the ones dedicated to his other Companions of the Trinity: Lord Shiv and Lord Vishnu. Despite his being the first in the Trinity, there is no day reserved for his worship. So much so that there are hardly any prayer or orison glorifying his virtues as the deity. Even the minor or demi deities command much greater respect than he does. Strange is his image which has very high status but no matching veneration in the devotees' hearts. How could the devotees be so ungrateful to their Creator? Why is he so unpopular? Does the job of creation pale into insignificance before the duties of Preservation and Destruction? All these questions been dealt in a very manner in this book, which is perhaps the unique book of this kind, at least in the English language. The author expresses his gratitude to "Books For all" for giving him an opportunity to unfold this mystery with a logical mind-set.
