Homoeopathy, a system of medicine founded by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann over two centuries ago, has continued to captivate the hearts and minds of practitioners and patients alike. Its principles of individualization and the use of highly dynamized medicines to stimulate the body's innate healing abilities have made it a unique and enduring form of healthcare modality At the same time, in the vast universe of homoeopathic symptomatology, it has posed a difficult challenge for its practitioners to pick up the right remedy, every time, in every individual case homoeopathy being a tailormade medicine and not a readymade medicine. The repertory is akin to a 'guiding star', providing practitioners with a systematic and organized approach in finding the most suitable remedies for their patients.
Repertory making is a never-ending activity. It has to keep pace with the growing materia medica on one hand and incorporate and maintain accuracy of verified data from the clinical confirmation on the other, so as to be of real service to the profession.
This book on 'repertory' is a testament to the dedication and expertise of its authors, who have embarked on the noble task of elucidating this intricate aspect of homoeopathic practice by distilling all the material available on the subject, from the pens of two yesteryear's repertorian giants, namely, Von Boenninghausen and Dr. Cyrus Maxwell Boger, who provided the tools and the techniques to use it for the benefit of generations of homoeopaths.
One of the most striking features of this book is its meticulous attention to detail. The authors have compiled an extensive array of symptoms, remedies, and relationships, making it an invaluable resource for both seasoned practitioners and newcomers to the field.
Boenninghausen Boger Final General Repertory (BBFGR) is an authentic and genuine work on repertory which is an amalgamation of various original works of Boenninghausen and Boger, accomplished by a team of dedicated post graduate students, teachers and practitioners.
It comprises of Antipsoric Repertory, Boenninghausen's Therapeutic Pocket Book, Boger's Boenninghausen Characteristics and Repertory, Moon Phases, Times of the Remedies, Synoptic Key, Lesser Writings, Additions to Kent's Repertory. Repertory of Symptoms of Ovaries, and Essentials of Boger's Principles and Practice of Homoeopathy as well as other contemporary records. The care has been taken that no relevant information propounded by Boenninghausen and Boger regarding Principles and practice, Materia Medica and Repertory is left out in this final and precious work.
Thus, BBFGR is an outcome of extensive literary and clinical research work by a group of committed, faithful and highly educated Homoeopaths who completed it by carefully going through all the academic and clinical records as well as verifying them through different references keeping in mind its academic and clinical relevance and utility for the learners and practitioners in finding out the simillimum.
PREAMBLE
The Homoeopathic students and professionals have been studying Boenninghausen's Therapeutic Pocket Book and Boger-Boenninghausen Characteristics & Repertory as two different books on repertory for theoretical and practical purposes to solve cases or to find out simillimum though the latter is an improvement over the first one. In fact, BTBP is combined result of all the Boenninghausen's work done by him in the subjects of Materia medica and Repertory whereas BBCR embraces the Therapeutic Pocket Book, the Antipsoric, Sides of the body, the repertory part of intermittent fever and of Whooping cough as well as a large number of paragraphs from the Aphorisms of Hippocrates, and also the records of daily practice.
Therefore, study of BTPB may not be very much required if one studies BBCR thoroughly. In fact, BTPB should be studied for the purpose of understanding the evolution of the principles and logic of repertories. As the suggests, the book is easy to handle and to use in practice because of its and contents.
