The food festivals of Northeast India, particularly Manipur, are unique. Innovative skills of group of people for the positive management regarding plants like orchids can open avenues for earning. The significance of plants as food, medicine and for aesthetic functions will be usefulin protecting traditional knowledge, and so the balance of nature for our existence have been discussed.

About the Author

DR MOHD MUSTAQUE AHMED (b.1975) at Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi, PO & PS: Lilong, Thoubal District, Manipur, India. He got his B.Sc. Botany (Hons.) and M.Sc. (Botany) degree from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. He obtained his M.Phil degree in Botany from Ch. Devi Lal University, Sirsa in 2008. He qualified for the State Eligibility Test (SET) for Lecturership (N E Region) in 2012. He was awarded his Ph.D. degree in Botany from University of Science and Technology Meghalaya, in 2019. Currently, he teaches Botany at United College (affiliated to Manipur University), Lambung, Chandel, Manipur state. His research area includes ethnobotany mainly and he has published a minimum of ten research publications. He has presented his research papers in national and international seminars. He's additionally inquisitive about environmental and health issues in relation to plants and animals.

There is an English proverb. "Health is wealth. Nowadays we are all in such an environment where We've already started thinking about improving our surroundings again It has been an undesirable thought somewhere, and thus to crave for wealth only Therefore, improving our surroundings has become necessary because we humans have made mistakes and the environment is already deteriorating This error and similar ones have guided man to bring much destruction to the surroundings. Given an emphasis on the title of the book, "Biodiversity Traditional culture and Health in North East India,it's been written to develop creative thinking in this area of study. Thus, it's likely to gain more knowledge for the young The students concerning human health and the environment can undertake more research to bring new results for problem. solving and it should also be more fruitful results in a much better environment for living. This book has worked towards this goal There are 15 chapters in this book, and thus these have been yielded out of my learning and un-learning experience, research, review, analysis, etc. The newly constructed review, research and analysis in different aspects regarding useful aspects of floral and fauna, ecotourism, lore, study prospects of the environment.
