Mohapatra Nilamani Sahoo (1926-2016), was one of the most significant writers in the Odia language. Guruprasad Mohapatra (1962-2021), the son of Mohapatra Nilamani Sahoo, was a distinguished Indian Administrative Service Officer of Gujarat cadre of 1986 batch. He was highly regarded for his contributions in every position he was posted. He played a significant role in handling the COVID-19 pandemic, but he succumbed to COVID at the age of 61. He was honoured with Padmashree posthumously.
