Foreword
Panchakarma in present era does not need any introduction. An integral part of Ayurved which gained popularity with passing era owing to its efficacy not only in treating the diseases but also as a preventive measure. Basti is one of the Panchakarma, the description of which is dispersed in the classical texts, which makes it tough for scholar to search out for all the texts to understand the core subject. In such a condition, a book which integrates all the concepts of classical texts will make it easier for scholars to learn the concepts and make them confident in practicing Ayurveda based on its principles.

It brings me immense pleasure to introduce "Bastisiddhi" - A Textbook on Basti authored by Dr. Gopesh Mangal and Dr. Karishma Singh. The authors have incorporated all the aspects pertaining to Basti from the classical texts along with their commentaries for complete understanding of the subject Basti. The book has covered the CCIM syllabus and may also be useful of Panchakarma MD Scholars. The book shows the academic enthusiasm of the authors who went throughout the literature of Basti in deep and brought out this Book which will certainly help the Scholars who are keen to understand and practice Basti.

I further congratulate the authors for their sincere efforts in creating this piece of work and wish them to continue their efforts in producing similar in-depth piece of works in other fields of Panchakarma for upcoming academicians and scholars.

Preface
Basti Karma has been the prime part of Panchakarma since ages. It has the reputation to be half of the entire treatments that can be available to provide substantial cure and relief. There are many texts available about the classical approach to Basti. Yet it has been a complicated science as there are not many texts available, which makes it hard for a user to understand the concepts with precision. "Bastisiddhi" is an effort in the direction to help physicians and scholars to learn the concepts and thus perform the procedure with perfection.

The Book "Bastisiddhi" promises the learners a complete information regarding Basti from various classics of Ayurveda. The Book has critically reviewed almost all the topics related to Basti.

The unique feature of this Book is that it incorporates the commentaries for deeper and precise understanding of principles and concepts along with hidden meaning related to Basti. It has been taken due care of to cover all the topics of Final Year M.D. Panchakarma syllabus as per C.C.I.M.

Research works carried out on Basti all over the country in different diseases has been incorporated in the Book.

We hope that "Bastisiddhi" will serve its intention of making the scholars competent in practicing this very treasure of Ayurveda.
