About the book Shalakya Tantra deals with the ocular disorders en diseases and dental too. In context to ocular disorders retina is One of the sophosticated structure of human eye. Retina diseases are at stake for opthalmologists too. But Ayurveda is boon for such diseases hence how ayurveda protocols can be effective for such difficult conditions of eye is being describe in the book.

About the Author The writer Dr. Pratibha upadhyay basically belongs to Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh). She has completed her U.G. and P.G. From B.H.U... She has done her PhD from National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur.

She has Attended many national and international seminars and presented various papers related to Ayurveda. Shi is being practicing Ayurveda since 6 years. She has publishes near about 20 papers in different national and international journals.

Preface Mental and physical health is one of the basic right of human being. Ayurveda helps in keeping healthy person being fit and helps to cure the disease too. Ayurveda is among one of the important part of history of India.

It has its own significant and influential treatment protocols.

Shalakya Tantra is among one of the eight branches of Ayurveda. It is also considered as Nimi Tantra as it is compiled by Acharya Nimi. The essence of this text is being compiled in different Ayurveda texts like Charak, Susruta and Vagbhata. Among these texts Susruta is beings considered as the base for detail knowledge of Shalakya.

Acharya Susruta has given vivid description of eye, ent (Ear, Nose, Throat) and disorders related to head. Now a days, there is huge increase in different types of eye diseases that are so serious and may lead to visual loss. In context to opthalmology retinal disorders is one of the thrust area for the whole world. So small description to cure such retinal disorders is mentioned in this book. In a hope that it may be useful in further research treatment and knowledge.
