Book Description
About the Book

This book is special because the visuals are handcrafted... some, with real materials. So a flower has pressed petals, the twigs are from plants, scarves are made of wool, eyes from beads, clouds from cotton, and feathers from... well, feathers!

There are rhymes to go with the pictures. And fun things to do like finger painting and making flowers by pressing ladies' finger pieces on paper.

So, read, write, draw, search for fruits in the word grid, or simply feast your eyes on the pretty pictures.

Explore Nature in all Her forms!

Foreword

Bharati Sukhatankar, on one of her visits to the Powai ashram of the Chinmaya Mission, had collected some twigs, tree bark, dried flowers and leaves. All of which went into the creative process of making this book.

Pujya Gurudev had admired her creation pages brimming with forest scenes, flowers and animals, valleys and rivers, clouds and a Snowman. All of which can be made by you as well!

I have penned rhymes to go with these pictures so that you can sing them as you scamper along fields, gaze at the rolling clouds, hold a beautiful flower or simply see an animal.

Jungle Jingles is a tribute to Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, a great Nature Lover, in this, our Golden Jubilee Year!
