In the life of a human being the most sweet and memorable part is its childhood, say from its second year till its seventh or eighth. During this time the child is very innocent, full of life, playful, has no responsibility or worry, and when in fear or pain it calls its mother and she is there ever ready to protect it. It understands no restriction and has freedom to go and talk to anybody in the house. It does not know how to hate anyone — in fact; it is like the manifestation of the ever-gracious divinity in the world. A child is loved, respected and even adored.
This book is a small attempt to express the love, affection and feelings towards children. In Hindu pantheon the only divine family having children is that of Shiva and Parvati or Uma. Through pleasing illustrations, another made-for-each-other couple — the Kogatas — have touched upon the various facets in the life of the divine children — Ganesha and Karttikeya — together with their doting parents. The delightful verses add sweetness and charm to the book.
Mr. R.N. Kogata and Mrs Lalita Kogata have probably the world’s biggest creation and collection of more than 9,000 — types of statues/idols and paintings of Lord Ganesha. They run - -- a Ganesha Gallery as well in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Other books authored by them are Maa — The Mother, Pita — The Father, Pati — The Husband in the Eyes of Wife, Patni — The Wife in the Eyes of Husband, Parivaar — Family: the Art of living life, Insaan and Indian Marriage: Customs and Rituals.
The Kogata couple have already created 1,000 different paintings of Lord Ganesha based on the 1,000 names of the elephant-faced god.
Mr. Kogata is a Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary by profession and Mrs Kogata is a postgraduate and a part-time Company Secretary. They have two sons, Devashish and Kushagra. Devashish is also an artist and has already made more then 700 pencil Sketches on Lord Ganesha.
As a plant is proud to bear its golden wheat there is no better wealth for parents than children’s feats? Children are like buds of flowers. Nourish them with good thoughts, feed them on quality education, and they would turn into a valley of flowers.
What a joy it is to see children walk and learn to move, to utter sounds with sense; what joy it is to hear their mental stores and to see them worldly wise, avoid nonsense; what joy to see the child, father of man and what joy to see them outdo their parents; what joy when things we cannot do, they can and what joy to see their God-given talents.
The greatest joy on earth is our children. The children are the apple of parents’ eyes; to see them well is parents’ only aim; so, parents slog all life to make them wise; their minds are filled with joy when they get fame.
Little children are love, little children are little children are blessings, little children teach us much, and little children are God in itself. Their smile brings spring and their tears the monsoon and they are the hope and future, if they are allowed to bloom.
Children are God’s way of extending time; there’s no greater treasure that you can find. He picked a unique way to say. Without children, where would the world be? Who would be there? Who would be there to see? Nature in its beauty has the lakes, the trees, the fields, the flowers, the animals, and even the air we feel. God made children so that we would know how beautiful life can be if we continue to grow.
A child has serene heart a calm face, immutable thought, love and friendship for all, he is innocent and honest and shines the whole family with flash and illumination, the child represents the Almighty himself. As such, you cannot enter heaven unless you become like little children. So let’s bless our little children as they grow from day-to-day.
Remember, the older you grow, the more earnestly you feel that the few joys of childhood are the best that life has to give and you will always recall and recollect that childhood is the best time in anyone’s life.
Inspired by these lovely and heart-touching characteristics about child and childhood, this book is a small try by us to express our thoughts and love for the childhood with the expectation of blessing from all of you.
Our journey would miss out an important part, if we do not express our whole-hearted love, affection and gratitude for our friends, specially Shri Raj Kumar Goel from Mumbai and our family members, who have been motivating us in our creativity and work.
We prostrate towards our parents, Smt. Kanchan Devi Kogata and Shri Bhairav UI Kogata, and Smt. Kamla Devi Nuwal and Late Prof. K.M. Nuwal, for their beloved blessings for reaching at this stage.
With expectation of blessings constructive feedback from all of you.
