Position of the Creative Arts in Society ralses certain questions in the minds of people, specially those who are concerned with them. Why art and its need for human expression? How is art to be evaluated? What are the different levels on which expression through art takes place? What separates good art form bad art? How does art document and communicate? What is beauty and how do recant trends reflect its changing connotation? Difficult as these questions are they need to be answered in a way which makes art more meaningful.

Art In Art is written for artists, teachers and students of different Creative Arts art administrator art critics collectors and connoisseurs as well as for those who wish to know about art and its and its creative process. Being a practising painter myself which meant going through personal struggles for the past more than four decades paradoxically, it was not easy to reach conclusions about art and its creation. My aim is not to remove the confusion which us widely prevalent in all the creative Arts, but bring awareness. I have preferred to share the knowledge rather than prescribe any formulations.
I have mostly used well-known names and events to illustrate different points of view in order to facilitate the readers. There are of course many others who have also contributed equally to the magnificent world of arts.
In writing 'Art in Art', I gratefully acknowledge the help of: Eva Joutsen, from Finland who keyed-in the manuscript into a computer to start with.
