About the Book
Sheikh Noor-ud Din Wali played a vital role in the conversion of Hindu populace of Kashmir to Islam. The Sheikh was not only a Sufi saint but also a religious reformer. Right from the first shaloka up to the end, the reader does not find any trace of escapism in' the book. The English version of Sheik Noor-ud Din Wali's poetry will enable the people of Kashmir to discern their beneficiary and may motivate them to know their language and be ensnared by the beauty of , their culture. That is the primary aim of this book, however non-Kashmiris can also take the advantage of this trans-creation but that would be the secondary aim of the book.

About the Author
Rashid Afaque: In Spore - the erudite town of Kashmir, the author was born on Feb 2, 1952 in the home of Haji Abdul Samad Kaloo. He had his education up to gradation in his home town. He qualified M.A (Eng) and B.Ed from the university of Kashmir Srinager.

He has passed M.A (Phi II) and D.C. E. from IGNOU as well he had served in the Department of Education for more than thirty six years as lecturer in English and as Principal.

He has authored eleven books on literature and on the Philosophy of education.

The Wind without Rain, (Poetry) Culture Kiya Gau (Essays in Kashmiri) From Knowledge to Wisdom (Education) has gained Laurels.
