I have immense pleasure to submit 'Grantha- sampadana-shastram' which is essential for manuscriptology students and scholars. The editing of the manuscript is very difficult task. Only learned scholars and experts in Indian scripts can edit a text and may provide justification to the unpublished manuscript edition. Author of this work, Dr. S. Jagannatha, a well known scholar in the field of Literature, grammar and rich experience in editing of rare and valuable manuscripts. He is serving as Research Assistant in Oriental Research Institute, University of Mysore from two decades and published valuable works. His involvement and skill in edition of rare manuscript is known to the learned scholars of India.
The present edition is focussing a new light on manuscripts - oldest work serviving in manuscrpits - some important works preserved in Library - form and size of manuscript - definition or qualities of scribe - famous Shlokas on scribe - writing instruments - history of preparing catalogues and valuable 14 appendixes etc. He typed whole text and read the proof of the text with keen interest.
I prostrate with sincere devotion to Sri Vishveshatirtha Swamiji who has been guiding the activities of the Samshodhana Mandiram for its all- round development.
I sincerely express gratitude to the authorities of Rashtriya Sanskrit Samsthan, New Delhi for their continuous encouragement in our research activities. I also express my gratitude to Dr. Binod Kumar Singh, Registrar of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan and Prof. S.N.
