Book Description
From the Jacket:

Anandavardhana, universally acclaimed as the most outstanding and influential critic in India flourished in Kashmir in the second half of the ninth century under the patronage of king Avantivarman. The monograph in seven chapters gives a detailed study on Anandavardhana's life and works; his status as the dhvani-theory; vyanjana-the language of poetry; and some concepts like pratibha, sahridaya, aucitya, alamkara, sanghatana, gunibhuta, vyangya etc.
