There is another "I" which is the possessing "T", or the "1" which knows that there is a mind. The existence of "I" in the mind only proves that there is another real entity which is beyond mind and which knows the existence of mind. This "I" which is the wit- messing entity and witnesses the existence of mind and the existence of the feeling of "I", is called atman, or unit consciousness. Thus through introspection and concentrated thinking one observes that a/man and mind, that is, unit consciousness and mind, are two separate entities.
