सनातानपथस्थाय स्वात्मारामाय ते नमः । विषयेभ्यो निवृत्ताय प्रशान्तमनसे नमः ।। त्यागिने योगिने नित्यं निर्वाणसुखभोगिने । रागिणे लोककल्याणे यमिने शमिने नमः ।। धर्मसंस्थापनार्थाय धर्मध्वजविराजिने । कर्मबन्धविमुक्ताय श्रीधराय नमो नमः ।।

"We offer our obeisance to Sri Sridharasvami who trod the ageless spiritual path, being settled in absolute peace, away from material concerns and ever unruffled, a personification of sacrifice and inner evolution and supernal bliss, whose single preoccupation was the well-being of all humanity, who had supreme control over body and mind, who lived for rejuvenation of Eternal Dharma and for constantly upholding its supremacy, who had released himself from all worldly bondages, to that savant do we pay our humble homage."

The present book is an English rendering of a collection of eighteen discourses by Bhagavan Sadguru Sri Sridharasvami Maharaj originally delivered in Marathi. They were for long unavailable in any other language. A translated Kannada version was for the first time published by Sri Sridhara Seva Mahamandala in January 2017 under the name 'Amrtavani' and has been very well received by countless devotees. It hardly needs to be said that on account of their uniqueness and richness of content these discourses are of immense usefulness as a beacon-light to millions of Bhagavan's devotees spread all over the world. It is also obvious that an English version would greatly facilitate publication in other languages, not to mention the fact that a considerable segment of Kannada readers too would appreciate the availability of an English version. However, translation especially from Kannada into English is particularly challenging.
