It is a matter of great pleasure that Pandit Madhusudan Ojha's treatise entitled "अम्भोवाद:" is seeing the light of the day as ninth publication under the series of works brought out by Pandit Madhusudan Ojha Research Cell of our University. Pandit Madhusudan Ojha, belonging to the former princely state of Jaipur, was a renowned scholar and a versatile genius. He was a stroehouse of Vedic wisdom and philosophy. A prolific writer and a talented author, Pandit Madhusudan Ojha has written as many as 228 treatises, wherein he unravelled the mysteries of the Vedavijnana. All along these years, his profound contribution had gone unheeded. Unfortuntately, some of his treatises have been lost.
A search for procuring his lost works ought to be undertaken in the right earnest. Of the available treatises, some have not yet seen the light of the day and those which were published earlier have been out of print since long. Most of the published treatises were devoid of translation and critical notes.
For a proper assessment of his original contribution to the Vedic research, it is invariably necessary that his treatises alongwith critical introduction, translation and critical notes, wherever necessary, should be brought out so as to facilitate and attract the Vedic scholars and researchers to undertake indepth study and intensive research.
The present work deals with one of the ten diverse cosmogonic doctrines propounded by the Sadhya Devas. It is a matter of pro-found satisfaction that Pandit Madhusudhan Ojha Research Cell has so far brought out nine works alongwith critical introduction, Hindi translation and critical notes with the avowed aim of fulfilling the above requirement. Dr. G.L. Suthar, Director of the Research Cell, is singularly dedicated to promote the cause of the Vedavijnana.
A sincere researcher and a dedicated scholar, Dr. G.L. Suthar is, in my opinion, the real motivating force behind the Pt. Madhusudan Ojha Research Cell. This Cell has acquired a fairly good reputation in the literary circles; thanks to the scholarship and hard work put in by Dr. G.L. Suthar.
To present the treatises of Pandit Ojha into English and other foreign languages seems to be a distant goal; but I am sure that in the years to come this task shall also be undertaken by the Research Cell. It is now increasingly felt that the translation of these works into more than one languages is highly desirable for proper understanding and appreciating the richness of Pandit Ojha's works.
It is a rare privilege of J.N. Vyas University, Jodhpur to have established Pandit M.S. Ojha Research Cell for studying the immense contribution made by Pandit Ojha; and his disciples, to the Vedic literature and philosophy. The works brought out by the Research Cell have aroused a remarkable interest among the scholars of Sanskrit and modern science for the study Vedavijnana. It is hoped that the publication of "अम्भोवाद:" shall prove to be highly beneficial to the researchers and scholars, who have a genuine interest in exploring and understanding the parameters and intricacies of Vedic literature.
I would like to congratulate Pandit Ananta sharma for making a befitting translation, alongwith critical notes, of "अम्भोवाद: " .
