The story of Alibaba is one of the 1001 Tales from the Arabian Nights. Other well-known stories include Aladdin and Sinbad the Sailor. These stories were written in Arabic nearly two thousand years ago.
The stories were told by a character called Scheherazade. She was married to Shah Riyar. Every time he married, he killed his wife on their wedding night. So every night to save herself, Scheherazade made up and told stories to entertain and amuse her husband. She was a very good storyteller and slowly the Shah began to love and trust his wife. This is where the 1001 Tales from the Arabian Nights came from. One among the stories is Alibaba and the forty thieves. This story is retold to fulfill the taste of all sort of people, and narrated in a interesting way.
