About the Author
Showkat Ahmad Ganai was born in 1981 in the historical village Chandhara. about 20 miles from Srinagar, the birth place of the last queen and famous poetess of Kashmir, Habba Khatoon. He belongs to an Agrarian family and has a close association with the saffron cultivation in his home town. Pampore.

After completing his graduation from the Kashmir University in 2003, he took up teaching profession. Simultaneously, he completed his Masters Degree in Political Science through IGNOU and his B.Ed. through Kashmir University. He has been writing poetry and prose in Kashmiri, Urdu and English..

His first publication, Kashmir: Accession and its Manipulation, a political analysis has been published by Gulshan Books in 2009.

The author recently was a co-presenter to an International Conference on Thematic Issues (Human Right Abuse) held in Dhaka.
