K KATHIRASAN had his tutelage with Swami Satprakashananda Sarasvati of Atma Vidya Vanam for several years studying the subject of Advaita Vedanta (Vedic Non-Dualism) and Yoga meticulously. His major area of specializations are Advaita Vedanta and secular Mindfulness teachings.
Kathirasan holds an MBA from the University of Wolverhampton and leads a business that develops leaders in global corporations. In spite of his busy career, he continues to teach Advaita Vedanta regularly to serious students. He has lived all his life in Singapore.
He has also authored 'Mindfulness in 8 Days: How to Find Inner Peace in a World of Stress and Anxiety'.
S. ANURADHA has been learning Advaita Vedanta and other aspects of Hinduism from K. Kathirasan since 2005. The desire to archive his teachings prompted her to transcribe and edit this lecture series on Siva Samhita.
In 2017 she released her debut novel 'The Friendless God' set against the background of the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid conflict in India.
She is currently based in Singapore and works as a financial journalist with a leading international news agency.
KANNAN KRISHNASAMY profession in Transport (Urban) Planning, thrusts him into the role of forecasting transport/ traffic infrastructure demand for the long-term future. Aside from this, he had previously taken an active role as a volunteer in Singapore's Hindu Centre. His affiliation towards Hindu Dharma and spirituality, has led him to join on board the editing team for this book. A fan of non-fiction works and fringe-music, he is currently working on a biography of renowned Vedic Metal band, Rudra.
"Let the joy I experienced spread in the world," says Tirumular in Tirumandiram. That pretty much sums up the decision to transcribe and edit the lecture series on Siva samhita by Kathirasan K.
Although the knowledge of Self has to be learnt directly from a teaching this first ever exposition on the first chapter of the Siva Samhita will be very beneficial for the seekers. The chapter is unique as it explains how a seeker can attain total freedom by understanding his true nature. The chapter is also priceless because it organizes the leaching of Sanatana Dharma head of explaining the nature of Self.
Kathirasan has explained each verse in detail and supported the teachings with references from Upanishads Bhugavad Gita and other Vedanta texts. The communication style is also simple making it easy for a reader and seeker to understand the meaning of this great text.
My respects to the teaching tradition starting from [mm to the anonymous author of Siva samhita to Kathirasan that has made this knowledge available to seekers.
I am also grateful to the Hindu Centre, Singapore, under whose aegis these lectures took place in 2010-2011.
