Adi Sankara Nilayam is a hallowed place, the maternal home of the great saint, savant and philosopher Adi Sankara—the very abode where he was born. This book knits together many threads: Adi Sankara’s connection to this place, the related history, the attendant traditions, the many temples that dot the property and legends associated with these temples. We also present in this book a brief biography of Adi Sankara, as well as the grand vision of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji that led to the birth of Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF), the premier Centre for Sanskrit Research and Indology of the Chinmaya Mission, at Adi Sankara Nilyam.
