The book, 16 Shades Of Life, explores various colourful emotions of life (16 of them) through stories and poems. They are highly relatable yet at the same time they nudge us to think about various facets of our lives and the lives of our loved ones.
When we are born, we are like a blank canvas...a clean white colour. After having lived our life, the aim is to craft a masterpiece, having added various colours and shades of our emotions as well as thoughts, through a life well lived. We are the artists of our lives and we need to create something that mesmerizes ourselves as well as others, by marking our journey with hues that are unique. We are meant to be so vibrant that we leave a bit of colour in every life we touch.
A calm blue when there were moments of tranquility, a green colour symbolizing the growth that occurred, a passionate red, a thoughtful brown, a sunshine filled yellow, a gloomy grey by themselves may be unidimensional, but throw in a bold black or a serene white and we can add depth and shadows which give definition to our life.
In order to have had an enriched life, we will have to accept that there will be doses of love, longing, despair, doubts, growth, fulfilment and so many more emotions. Acceptance will lead us to embrace these emotions and lead the colourful life we were always meant to have.
