Mankind is suffering on account of many problems. With materialism taking strong root, our problems have increased manifold. Surely, comfort levels have also gone up but they have come with some price. The root cause for greater suffering are: lack of proper knowledge, meaning spiritual knowledge lack of application, meaning lack of mind control or willpower and uncontrolled lust-a flaw of materialism.
Unfortunately, we live with them, not knowing that there are solutions, which can be taken advantage of. The Bhagavad-Geeta is one such source where such solutions are readily available. It is not that we don't seek solutions, but generally we base them upon our personal experience. This could be limited at the very best. On the other hand, spiritual wisdom is time tested. Countless people have benefited from it. Human life is very precious; it is not advisable to experiment with it. What would be the logic for doing so when real solutions are available in a scripture like the Bhagavad-Geeta.
We have identified one hundred common problems which afflict us. We have defined them. We have tried to figure out why such problems occur; the harm they cause; and their solutions, which are mainly based on the Bhagavad- Geeta. In addition, we have included stories with all the problems, which highlight them and give solutions. We have tried to keep the language as simple as possible in order to make it comprehensible to all.
In conclusion, we wish to state that there are two aspects of the material world: pleasure and pain. A wise person tries to increase his pleasure while doing everything possible to reduce his or her pain. Solution of a problem helps reduce pain.
We have cited many verses of the Bhagavad-Geeta which give solutions to various problems. Still, we recommend that you read the entire Bhagavad- Geeta. We have not only read it thoroughly, but also translated the same in a very thorough manner (details of the same is given in the introduction of authors on the inside of the back cover).
Out of the 100 problems, one may have only a few pronounced ones. Still, one should go through all the problems and rate oneself on a scale of 1-10. This will be an interesting exercise to understand oneself better.
