Ekamjot Singh is a budding artist hailing from Ludhiana. Currently, he is a student at the Government College of Art, Chandigarh. His artistic journey began in June 2018, initially sparked by a fascination with 3D art. Inspired by the renowned artist Marcello Barenghi, an expert in the field of 3D art, Ekamjot delved into this technique, which deepened his understanding of pencil colors, shadows, depths, and highlights.
Over time, his interest expanded to encompass realism in general, leading him to explore realistic portraits and paintings of monuments. He primarily used pencil colors as his medium, gradually diversifying into various other mediums.
During his senior years in school, Ekamjot Singh enrolled in an animation diploma course, which bolstered his digital skills. Leveraging this knowledge, he initiated a YouTube channel where he shares cinematic time-lapse videos of his drawings. He also maintains an active Instagram page (@ekam.art), boasting a substantial following of 25k admirers.
In 2020, Ekamjot's artwork was selected as one of the top ten artworks in a competition organized by ICC, representing a significant milestone in his artistic journey. In 2021, during the Diwali season, he participated in the "Handmade in India" Diwali exhibition, where his artworks garnered a heartwarming response from attendees.
Towards the end of 2021, Ekamjot secured admission into the Government College of Art, Chandigarh. This opportunity allowed him to explore previously uncharted artistic territories, including sculpture and printmaking. He exhibited his work at the college's annual art exhibition, where he received the prestigious Sohan Kadri Award for the most outstanding work in BFA 1st year foundation, marking a significant achievement in his artistic pursuits.
