This amazing kalmakari painting depicts the Eight Forms of Lord Ganesh or “Ashtavinayak'', the son of Shiva and Parvati. The eight forms of lord Ganesha are, Vakratunda, Ekadanta, Mahodara, Gajanana, Lambhodara, Vikata, Vighnaraja, and Dhoomravarna. Lord Ganesha can be seen in different poses in all the eight forms. In his first form he is sitting and beside him is his vehicle mice with a sweet ball. In the second form he is standing and there are fishes around. In the third pose lord Ganesha can be seen seeing on the other side with a trident in his right hand. In the fourth pose lord Ganesha is sitting with a plate of sweet balls in his left hand.
In the fifth form, Ganesha is playing Veena, Indian classical instrument. The sixth form is of dancing Ganesha, in the seventh form Ganesha is busy playing mridanga (a barrel shape drum), and in the eight form Ganesha can be seen playing flute. The whole painting looks like a temple with all the eight forms of Lord Ganesha bestowing his blessings.
