About the Author :

A medical man, psychologist and an ex-revolutionary, Trivikram Ramchandra Kulkarni, besides being an eminent educationist, was a Sanskrit scholar who had made a deep study of the Upanishads and Yoga. While a final year medical student, he was sentenced to five years' rigorous imprisonment for involvement in the famous Indore Revolutionary Conspiracy cause of 1933.

After serving as head of the Department of Psychology at the D.C. Ruparel College, Bombay, he took up the Readership in Applied Psychology at the University of Bombay.

Dr. Kulkarni was a recognized guide for Ph.D. in Psychology. Several students obtained Ph.D. under his guidance. He was also a member of the Faculty of Arts and Science of the Bombay University and a member of the Board of Advisers for Research, Yogic Research Institute, Lonavla.

Dr. Kulkarni's fields of interest and work included Physiological and Clinical Psychology, Rigveda, Upanishads and Yoga. He had contributed papers to several scientific symposia and seminars; some papers were published in 'Yogamimamsa'.
