This brass turtle or Kurma is also known as Kachua in its native language. It is used in Feng Shui and Vaastu to stabilize the energies of a space. The turtle derives its significance from the legend of Samudra Manthan where Lord Vishnu took the Kurma Avatar to balance the Mount Mandara and helped with the churning of the sea which eventually yielded many useful objects to the Gods and Goddesses and helped maintain the balance. The brass turtle is thus a symbol of balance. The tortoise's form represents longevity and protection, which is consistent with Vaastu concepts that aim to create a harmonious and auspicious living or working environment. It is an important component of Vaastu Shastra for increasing well-being and equilibrium.
