The Bhagavad Gita, says Acharya Sri Sankara, is a compendium of the essential teachings of the whole of the Vedas; its meaning is extremely difficult to grasp.

Being the revealer of the Gita, no one knew this better than Sri Krishna. Was it why He Himself, directly commanded us to do and not to do certain things, making it possible for us to practice his teachings?

Every good-hearted sincere person in the world can practice the universal imperatives of the Bhagavad Gita.

This is the most authentic away of grasping the meaning of the Gita, because this is learning by doing under the Lord’s direct command.
